Blue Strike Environmental, is providing this special opportunity to help divert waste from the landfill AND earn funds for Solana Center at the same time. Volunteers may join their "Green Team" to help with waste sorting at the Farmer's Insurance Open Golf Tournament in La Jolla. And they will make a donation to Solana Center for every hour worked by one of our volunteers!
Volunteer Responsibilities:
No experience is necessary: just a willingness to dig in and help separate trash, recyclables and green waste.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes:
Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Prerequisites: Volunteers must review the Volunteer Requirements and the Code of Conduct portions of Solana Center's Volunteer Handbook.
Shifts: All shifts are 11:00 am – 4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Lunch, water and gloves will be provided.
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for standing, considering the weather and event location.
Bring: Don't forget to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, and feel free to pack snacks for break time.
There are five dates for this event, and you may sign up for as many as you like.

Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer.
Your volunteer hours are recorded in our database. Upon request, we will include your travel time in those hours. Simply send an email to volunteer@solanacenter.org to let our volunteer coordinator know what your drive time is.
