Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes:

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• You will be gently separating our hard working worms from their nutrient rich castings. 

• Please feel free to bring  a container (up to 32 ounces) to take some free castings home with you! 

• Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 5 years old. Paticipants under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will sign the waiver on their behalf

• Volunteers must review the Volunteer Requirements and the Code of Conduct portions of Solana Center's Volunteer Handbook.

• This opportunity involves hands-on contact with worms and other composting bugs. You must be comfortable handling these critters.

• Attire: Wear comfortable clothes that can get a bit dirty. This event takes place outdoors, so please dress for the weather, including sun protection (sunscreen, hat, etc.)

• Bring: We suggest a refillable water bottle.

• Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer.

Your volunteer hours are recorded in our database.  Upon request, we will include your travel time in those hours.  Simply send an email to volunteer@solanacenter.org to let our volunteer coordinator know what your drive time is.
