Volunteer Responsibilities:

In joining us for this activity, you will helping to maintain our grounds, creating a space for engaging our community in our sustainable offerings.

We will be focused on downsizing and decluttering: pulling together items we know longer need in preparation for a community giveaway event. Tasks will vary, and may include any of the following:

• General cleanup and organizing around the site 

• Organizing and cleaning up giveaway items

• Maintaining our Tool Library and Green Convene

• Watering, weeding or pruning 

• Age Requirements: Must be aged 16 and up. All volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to fill out the registration form on their behalf.

• Prerequisites: Volunteers are required to read and sign our Appropriate and Inappropriate Actions Policy before joining any of our events. (This is a one-time action.) Volunteers must also review the Vounteer Requirements and the Code of Conduct portions of Solana Center's Volunteer Handbook.

• Physical Requirements: Must be willing to do hands-on work. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is preferred, but not required.

• Experience Needed: All levels of experience welcome! 

• Attire: Wear clothes to get dirty in! Gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

• Bring: Reusable water bottle, sun protection.

• Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer. 

• Your volunteer hours are recorded in our database.  Upon request, we will include your travel time in those hours.  Simply send an email to [email protected] to let our volunteer coordinator know what your drive time is.
