Volunteer Responsibilities:
In joining us for this activity, you will helping to maintain our grounds, creating a space for engaging our community in our sustainable offerings. At this event, we will be focused on decluttering! We are doing a major cleanout of our site, pulling together everything we no longer need so we can make it available for others to take and put to use.
Task will vary, and may include any of the following:
Clearing out items from our storage trailers and sheds
Staging items for pickup by Center visitors
Cleaning off items as needed
Writing signs for free and sale items
Age Requirements: Must be aged 16 and up. All volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to fill out the registration form on their behalf.
Prerequisites: Volunteers must review the Volunteer Requirements and the Code of Conduct portions of Solana Center’s Volunteer Handbook
Physical Requirements: Must be willing to do hands-on work. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is preferred, but not required.
Experience Needed: All levels of experience welcome!
Attire: Wear clothes to get dirty in! Gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
Bring: Reusable water bottle, sun protection.
Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer.
Your volunteer hours are recorded in our database. Upon request, we will include your travel time in those hours. Simply send an email to volunteer@solanacenter.org to let our volunteer coordinator know what your drive time is.
