Free Rain Barrel for Unincorporated County of San Diego Residents!

Plant your water! Rain harvesting techniques such as rain barrels help keep valuable water on your property for later use and in the soil for healthier landscapes.⁣ Just 1” of rain yields 600 gallons per 1000 sq. ft. of roof space. That's a lot of free, freshwater for San Diegans to capture and help their plants thrive!

To help you prepare for the rainy season ahead, Solana Center is hosting a rain barrel demonstration webinar, sponsored by the County of San Diego on January 30. Unincorporated residents who attend can receive one free rain barrel to get started started!

THIS EVENT IS FULL. All 200 free rain barrels have been claimed. Rain barrels are still available for purchase here.

⁣Did you know the largest use of water in our household doesn’t come from within the home but from out in the yard instead? Join this webinar to learn how one rain barrel collects up to 50 gallons of chemical-free water and the savings this can make on your water bill during warm San Diego summers. ⁣

Participation is limited to the first 200 unincorporated County residents only, one rain barrel per household. Additional barrels are available for purchase from Solana Center with the opportunity for further rebates. Visit www.solanacenter.org/rain-barrels to register and learn more about available rebates!
