Manure Management and Composting Workshop at Pathfinder Farm

Make a difference and help our community learn about improving the quality of our soil and protecting our local watershed through composting techniques of manure management.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this event.  Unfortunately, all volunteer positions have been filled. Please return to our volunteer opportunity page to check out more great events!

A group of people gathered outdoors at Solana Center's garden

We have a large community of ranchers in the hills around San Diego County. And since they are uphill, what they do on their land greatly impacts everyone else. Help show ranchers how to properly deal with their manure using the same composting techniques you know and love.

Assist one of our Solana Center educators during this 2-hour presentation and, at the same time, see how composting can be applied to land use, big and small!

In this workshop, you will assist with:

  • Setting up our presentation area (tables, chairs, info material, etc)
  • Event sign-ups and registration
  • Advancing PowerPoint slides or handling our flip chart
  • Sharing props and visuals
  • Packing up our presentation supplies
