teach sustainable practices that support a healthy planet,
and inspire students to adopt sustainable practices in their own lives.
Join us at Hannalei Elementary School in teaching students about the importance of composting for a healthy planet, and introduce them to composting with worms. As a volunteer, you will assist in:
- Setting up / breaking down demo site
- Advancing PowerPoint slides or flipping our educational chart
- Staging our worm demonstration
- Engaging students in activities related to the lesson

- Tuesday, Janaury 25th, 7:00 am to 11:30 am
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Attire: Wear clothes that are comfortable for standing in and appropriate to the weather.

Bring: Reusable water bottle, snacks for break-time.

Experience Needed: At least one volunteer event with Solana Center prior, unless you are a Master Composter graduate or familiar with Solana Center.

Age Requirements: Must be at least 12 years of age. All volunteers under the age of 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.

Physical Requirements: Must be willing to do hands-on work with worms and other compost critters and able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Safety: All participants must sign an additional COVID-19 volunteer waiver BEFORE EVENT DAY (this will be sent in an info email 1-4 days before the event). Volunteers for this event must be able to show proof of vaccination on event day.
