The City of Encinitas has funded Solana Center to be present at our local Leucadia Farmers Market bi-monthly to help spread the word and educate residents about these new curbside composting services. Many local residents may not yet understand the importance of organic waste diversion, or could use support with the transition to curbside composting, and Solana Center is here to help!
At the market, we speak with members of our local community to share resources, answer questions, and spread the word on this important new transition to curbside composting. We also have exciting giveaway prizes for Encinitas Residents who take our recycling survey. Come spend the day outside with us at our community outreach booth and talk about curbside composting and organic waste diversion!
This volunteer shift will consist of a few hours of being on your feet in the sun, and lots of talking and interaction with the community. You will answer questions, encourage people to take the survey, hand out flyers, and share information about a few different services that Solana Center and ECDO offer.
This shift runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Breaks will be given during volunteer shift.
This volunteer shift is located in a busy, open-air market. Masks are required if you are not vaccinated. If you are vaccinated, masks are encouraged but not required. Please be sure to fill out our liability and Covid-19 waiver before volunteering.
