"How often should I turn my pile? What should I avoid putting in the compost? How come my compost won't get hot?"
Whether you're already composting at home or need a few more answers to get going, this 1-hour virtual Q&A session with Solana Center's experienced educators will demystify how to compost green waste and food scraps in your backyard. We'll cover some of the FAQs of composting and address any other questions you might have!
PLEASE NOTE: This webinar will not cover vermicomposting (composting with worms), but we plan to hold a similar Q&A session on this topic soon. Learn the difference between backyard composting and vermicomposting in our CIY Guide.
This webinar is a partnership between Solana Center and the Water Conservation Garden. During the webinar, we will also take a virtual tour of the Water Conservation Garden's composting demonstration site, led by Master Composter and long-time Garden volunteer, Whitney Dueñez.
We will conduct this webinar using Zoom, so please note that you will need to have the Zoom application installed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) to attend and participate. You will receive an email with the link and password to join on the day before the webinar occurs.
This webinar is funded by the County of San Diego and is intended for residents of unincorporated County. Anyone may attend, however, the webinar recording will be available for 7 days after the live presentation to unincorporated County residents only.
Help us get the word out to other unincorporated residents! You'll be entered to win a raffle drawing for every resident you get to attend the webinar. If you get someone to register, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll enter a raffle entry for you.
