Toast to Compost 2024

Cheers to our volunteers!

June 23rd, 2024: A great time was had by all at our annual Toast to Compost volunteer appreciation party! We gathered at the Center for brunch, games, and special recognition. We are so grateful to ALL of you who give generously of your time and skills to make the work we do possible.

A huge thank you to Tammy Churchill for creating the Toast to Compost edition of “People Bingo”, which got everyone mixing, mingling – and qualifying for prizes!

The Awards:

The Golden Trowel – for those who have really “dug in” and taken on a variety of activities – went to both Mirta Grifman and Clare Mengebier, who have helped us reach new audiences by staffing docent booths and presentations all around the County.

The Golden Mouse (the computer kind) for help with all things electronics and tech went to Russell Levan. Russell has put in countless hours helping with our CRM database and our e-waste collection program.

And the Golden Pitchfork – our VIP of the year! This year’s recipient was Kennie Trout, one of our most active docents who is also up for flying solo when needed to make sure we have a presence at community events.

It’s always a great pleasure to recognize the recipients of our annual “Golden” awards. You are all truly Good as Gold!
