Jennifer is a Solana Center educator, who is our lead on all things relating to soil – from growing healthy plants to creating nutrient-rich compost.
Jennifer Galey is an East Coast native from Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a degree in Psychology from St. Mary's of Notre Dame and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. After moving to Southern California and working as a therapist and teacher, Jennifer found her passion as the Infield Farm Coordinator for the San Diego County Fair and a Senior Environmental Educator and Fair Liaison for Solana Center.
Over the past 10 years, she has developed educational exhibits and workshops for backyard farming at the Fair that include composting techniques, organic gardening, beekeeping, water conservation, and waste diversion.
Solana Center complements the Infield Farm mission by teaching environmentally sustainable practices that encourage others to be better stewards in their community. As an Environmental Educator, Jennifer presents at schools, community events and workshops on a variety of topics including composting, recycling, greywater and organics exchange programs.
